CONDUIT CAPITAL NAMES FIVE NEW PARTNERS

Growing Team Underscores Firm's Commitment to Independent Power Industry in Latin America

NEW YORK, NY, January 3, 2007 – Conduit Capital Partners, LLC, ("Conduit"), a private equity investment firm focused on the independent electric power industry in Latin America and the Caribbean, today announced that five senior executives – Eyob Easwaran, Marc Frishman, Samuel Gómez, Juan F. Páez and Liliana Rauch – have been named partners at the firm, effective immediately.

"These five individuals have made significant contributions to the firm's growth, and we are pleased to recognize their achievements," said J. Scott Swensen, Chairman of Conduit. "We look forward to their ongoing contributions as we put additional funds from Latin Power III to work, with our focus remaining on the independent electric power industry in Latin America and the Carribean."

Swensen noted that these executives have been investing as a team long before Conduit's founding in 2003, having joined the firm subsequent to the founding of Latin Power I, which was in 1993.

Easwaran, currently Conduit's Lead Asset Manager, has been with the Latin Power funds for more than eight years. Prior to that, he was a Research Engineer for Princeton Economic Research, Inc., and prior to that, Easwaran was an Energy Analyst for BNF Technologies, Inc. Easwaran holds a B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from José Antonio Echeverría Polytechnic Institute in Havana, Cuba, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Geothermal Technology from Auckland University of New Zealand, and an M.S. degree in Business/Finance from Johns Hopkins University. He is fluent in Spanish and speaks Portuguese.

Frishman, currently an Investment Manager at Conduit, has been with the Latin Power funds for more than eight years. Frishman holds a B.A. degree in History and International Marketing from Tulane University and an M.B.A. degree in International Finance from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management. Prior to his graduate studies, Frishman worked for a Mitsubishi Group company, originating and structuring new international business ventures in the automotive, aerospace and energy industries. Frishman also has experience in international corporate real estate investment. He has lived in Mexico and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

Gómez, currently an Investment Manager at Conduit, has been with the Latin Power funds for more than seven years. Previously, he was a Senior Equity Research Analyst specializing in utilities and consumer products at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, Santander Investment and Prudential Securities, and an Associate Analyst at Schroder & Co. and Lehman Brothers. Gómez was also a Statistical Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Originally from Medellín, Colombia, Gómez holds a B.S. degree in Finance and International Business with a minor in Spanish from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He is a native Spanish speaker and is also conversant in Portuguese.

Páez, currently an Investment Manager at Conduit, has been working with the Latin Power funds since 2000. Prior to joining the team, he worked as an investment banker in Colombia and in the equity capital markets group for BNP Paribas in London. He holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, and an M.B.A. degree with a major in Finance from the London Business School. Páez has lived and worked in Colombia, the U.K and the U.S.A., is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in Portuguese.

Rauch, currently Chief Administrative Officer at Conduit, has been working with the Latin Power funds for more than 11 years. Previously, she was a bilingual Corporate Legal Assistant for Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, specializing in international offerings relating to corporate matters. Before Jones, Day, Rauch worked as an Assistant Managing Clerk for Demovsky Lawyer Service. She holds a B.B.A. degree in International Business and a B.A. degree in Spanish (Sigma Delta Pi) from Hofstra University. Rauch has lived in Colombia, is fluent in Spanish and speaks Portuguese.
